Court jails tailor 18 months for stealing MP radio

A Magistrate’s Court in Jos on Thursday, sentenced a 19-year-old tailor, Frank Pam, to 18 months in prison for stealing an MP3 radio worth N400, 000.

The Magistrate, Irene Pati, sentenced the convict, who pleaded guilty to the charge.

Pati, however, gave the convict option of a fine of N50, 000 or to spend one year in prison.

He also ordered him to pay N400,000 as compensation in default to spending six months in prison.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported on Jan. 13, at the Angol- Jos Police Station by one Sunday Ladong, the complainant.

Gokwat said that the convict stole the radio valued N400, 000.

He said that the offence contravened the Plateau Penal Code Law. (NAN)
