We’re ready to rescue Nigeria, Oyo State, from poverty – ADC

Ibadan, Feb. 5, 2026 (NAN) The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State says the party is ready to rescue Nigeria and Oyo State from hunger and poverty.
ADC Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr Bimpe Adelowo, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Thursday.
According to him, ADC has what it takes to win the governorship and other elective positions in the state.
He noted that, having tested and found both the PDP and APC disappointing, people began to move to the ADC, considering it a more credible alternative party.
“The people of Oyo State are tired of the government in the state and are clamouring for a change that will listen to the yearning of the masses and won’t invest in white elephant projects.
“The people have thought it better to join the trail now and start to build this political party together, contributing their ideas.
“They want to be part of the electoral, I mean, democratic process; ready to build a new system for Nigeria,” Adelowo said.
He criticised what he called the “huge state resources” spent on the Oyo@50 celebrations.
He said that the spending had no direct impact on the citizens, clearly reflecting that the PDP-led government in the state didn’t get its priorities right.
“They began to do an aircraft show while many people are suffering.
“They began to build banquet halls and spend millions of naira to host gala nights, where many cannot eat a meal in a day; the priorities are very wrong.
“Nobody has denied the fact that Oyo State clocked 50, and it’s a milestone to be celebrated, but we have to celebrate such a milestone with humanitarian services,” Adelowo said. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
