Lagos, Feb. 6, 2026 (NAN) A group, the Tinubu Media Force, says food prices are gradually easing across major markets nationwide, citing reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The group said several staple items had recorded price reductions, signalling improved supply conditions and stabilising market dynamics across the country.
National Coordinator, Mr Gbenga Abiola, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Lagos.
Abiola said the trend underscored the growing impact of the administration’s economic and agricultural policies.
“We have observed the gradual easing of food prices across major markets, reflecting the impact of President Tinubu’s economic and agricultural reforms,” he said.
According to him, staples such as rice, pepper varieties and poultry feed have recorded noticeable price reductions.
“These improvements indicate that strategic interventions are easing pressure across the agricultural value chain,” Abiola added.
He said reforms in production support, import regulation, logistics and coordination were reducing input costs for farmers and producers.
Abiola described poultry feed as a clear example of intervention impact, noting significant price reductions nationwide.
“This drop should ordinarily result in lower egg prices, but prices have largely remained unchanged in many markets,” he said.
He expressed concern that retailers were slow to reflect reduced costs, weakening the intended impact of the reforms.
“For relief to reach households, pricing practices must be fair, responsive and reflective of market conditions,” Abiola said.
He called on market associations and retailers to align prices with current realities in the national interest.
Abiola reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting policies promoting food security and market stability nationwide. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
