Mr Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), says the ongoing construction of the 10-kilometre access road to the Renewed Hope City, Karsana, will be ready in May.

Wike, who gave the assurance after he inspected some ongoing projects in Abuja on Tuesday, expressed satisfaction with the contractor.

“I’m very impressed with the quality of work. I didn’t know that it’s like a ring road, covering over 10 kilometres.

“From what I’ve seen, they’re really going to meet the May June deadline.

The minister also inspected the completed 8-lane Obafemi Awolowo Way (Arterial Road N5), linking Life Camp with Dape District and Karmo.

He explained that the project had been completed and fitted with streetlights, adding that the only thing remaining was the walkway which would be completed in three weeks.

“We are happy because it’s one of those projects that we think will be inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu during his third anniversary,” he said.

He explained that the visit was part of routine inspections to find out what contractors were doing, the quality of delivery and timelines.

Wike assured the contractors that the FCT Administration would provide the needed funds to enable them to complete the projects on agreed time. (NAN)
