The Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has conferred an honourary doctorate degree on former Minister of Defence, Lt.-Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, Rtd.
The university conferred on Danjuma an Honourary Doctor of Business Administration and Ethics, during its 8th and 9th Combined Convocation Ceremony held on Saturday in Bokkos.
Similarly, the university conferred on Mr Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, a tech expert, an Honourary Doctor of Information Technology and Entrepreneurship.
Conferring the honours, Prof. Shedrach Best, the Vice Chancellor of the university, said that the honours were bestowed on the duo owing to their contributions to nation building.
“Today, we confer the degree of Doctor of Business Administration and Ethics on retired Lt.-Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, for his immense contribution to business and growing the Nigerian economy and society.
“Similarly, we have conferred on Mr Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, the Doctor of Information Technology and Entrepreneurship for his contribution to ICT and revolutionising business and the financial sector.
“The honour is also for motivating young entrepreneurs and showing the enterprise possibility in youths,” Best said.
Responding, Danjuma thanked the university for considering him and Aboyeji for the honours.
The former minister particularly thanked the institution for honouring Aboyeji, a young Nigerian for his contribution to nation building.
He called on other young Nigerians to emulate Aboyeji to contribute to the growth of the society.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
