The National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) has granted provisional approval to Crescent Pearls Technical College of Education, allowing the institution to begin operations.
The approval, secured in May 2024, marks a milestone and underscores the college’s commitment to quality teacher education integrating technical expertise with sound pedagogy.
Speaking at the grand opening ceremony of the institution on Tuesday in Abuja, the founder, Abiola Abdulrasheed, said the college responded strategically to the need for technically skilled and professionally trained educators in Nigeria.
Abdulrasheed said over 16 years of advancing primary and secondary education inspired the vision to establish a standard-driven tertiary institution.
According to her, the college is positioned to produce competent, innovative, and globally competitive teachers who will contribute meaningfully to national development and the growth of Nigeria’s economy.
She said the institution had established robust academic and administrative frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in teacher education.
She added that the college features modern lecture theatres, laboratories, administrative offices and student-friendly facilities to promote innovation, research and leadership development.
With the opening, the college joins privately owned technical institutions working to strengthen teacher education and address gaps in Nigeria’s education system. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
