Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, forward Gift Monday, Christy Ucheibe, alongside eight others have arrived the Super Falcons camp in Yaoundé, Cameroon, ahead of the two-match friendly with the hosts.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mary Akinsola, the Media Officer of the team, on Wednesday said that “the team will be training by 4:30 p.m. at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Abidjo as more players continue to arrive”.
According to Akinsola, other players who have arrived include: Canada based Ngozi Okobi-Okeogene, Israeli-based Glory Ogbonna and Joy Omewa, who plies her trade with Nottingham Forest in England.
Others are Madrid-based Esther Onyenezide, Fatima Okolo from Abia Angels, FC Robo’s Favour Nkwocha Tanzania-based Precious Christopher and Oluwatosin Demehin who plays for Galatasaray Sportive in Turkey.
The double header will be played on Saturday and Tuesday March 3, both in Yaoundé.
The friendly serves as preparation for the 13th Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) scheduled for March 13 to April 3, 2026.
All four semi-finalists in the tournament will qualify directly to next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
