Amb. Ismail Yusuf, Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has called for a close coordination with the Saudi Embassy, to ensure a seamless pilgrimage by Nigerians.
The NAHCON boss, in a statement by the Information officer, Suwaiba Ahmad, on Saturday in Abuja, said this during a courtesy visit to the Saudi Arabian Ambassador in Abuja.
According to Yusuf, NAHCON has initiated high-level diplomatic engagements, regarding the 2026 Hajj.
The commission’s CEO confirmed that his team had already commenced inspection of facilities in Saudi Arabia, for the comfort and safety of Nigerian pilgrims.
On his part, the Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef Albalawi, pledged to strengthen collaboration with NAHCON, to ensure a successful 2026 Hajj for Nigerian pilgrims.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the NAHCON boss had, in the past week, held three distinct virtual meetings with officials in Saudi Arabia.
The meetings focused on strategy, regulations, quota, visas, IT interconnectivity and bilateral collaboration to ensure smooth hajj operations. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
