Ayobola Ipinlaiye, former Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ), Kwara Chapter, has distributed food items to widows, people living with disabilities and other indigent groups.
Speaking with newsmen at the event in Ilorin, Ipinlaiye who is the Founder of Help Women Foundation, an NGO, said the distribution is the “Second Round 2.0” for the Holy Month of Ramadan and Lent fasting season.

She explained that the foundation had earlier distributed food items to 50 people living with disabilities in the state, adding that the second round is targeted at widows in the community.
Ipinlaiye said that the foundation is dedicated towards showing compassion to vulnerable groups in the society especially people with disabilities and vulnerable women.
“The foundation is all about giving helping hand to the needy. We give out foodstuffs and money to the very poor and needy.
“We intend to continue to reach out to indigents during this holy month,” she said.
In her appreciative remarks, Prophetess Iyabo Ayodele, the Coordinator of Ayomoro Widows Group in Kwara, expressed gratitude to the Help Women Foundation for the food distributed to members.
She noted that most of the widows are poor and indigent and therefore require support, having lost their breadwinners.
Ayodele prayed for the success of the foundation to continue touching lives of people in the state, while appealing to other well-meaning groups to do same for indigents in the society.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the food items distributed include rice, millet, guinea corn and semovita, among others. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
