Tinubu appoints governing council for Ogoni varsity

โ€ŽPresident Bola Tinubu has appointed the Pro-Chancellor, governing council members, and principal officers of the Federal University of Environment and Technology, Koroma/Saakpenwa, Ogoni, in Rivers.

โ€ŽThis is contained in a statement issued by Presidential Spokesperson, My Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday in Abuja.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAccording to the statement, Prof. Don Mon Baridam (South-South), is the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, while Prof. Chinedu Mmom, also from the South-South, will serve as the Vice-Chancellor.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽBaridam, a professor of Management with specialisation in Organisational Behaviour, had previously taught at the University of Port Harcourt.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽMmom is a professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Port Harcourt, he is a former Commissioner for Education in Rivers.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe Governing Council comprises a diverse team, with members from different regions of the country.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThey are Mr Emmanuel Onoja (North Central); Mr Hamid Adekunle (South West)( Prof. Chima Oji (South East); and Alhaji Abdullahi Lamda (North West).
โ€Ž
โ€ŽDr Mpigi Douglas (South South) will be the Registrar, Zoryii Nwaimanie (North Central) will take on the role of Bursar, and Dr Saghanen Ntogo from the South/South will be the Librarian.
Onanuga said that President Tinubu appointed a team of professionals to play key roles at the university.

โ€ŽThe new University will admit its first cohort of students in September.
