Mijo AutoGas, a global leader in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) conversion technology, and Alfa Designs Nigeria Ltd. have reaffirmed commitments to driving shift toward cleaner and affordable energy solutions.
The companies made the commitment on Friday in Abuja during the official unveiling of Alfa Designs Nigeria Ltd.’s CNG products and a stakeholder engagement session.
The event, held in partnership with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), featured the unveiling of Mijo AutoGas’ CNG conversion kits and specialised CNG Cylinders produced by EKC International.
Also showcased were CNG mother and daughter station infrastructure by CIMC ENRIC, as well as an Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) camera developed by Opgal Optronics for detecting invisible gas leaks.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Pankaj Bohhra, representative of Mijo AutoGas, said the company had built a strong footprint in Nigeria over the past five years and operated across 17 countries for more than three decades.
He said Mijo, headquartered in India, remained at the forefront of global CNG and LPG conversion technology, with 400 certifications from regulatory agencies such as the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and other international bodies.
“Mijo manufactures a wide range of CNG conversion components, including kits, reducers, injectors, wiring harnesses and Electronic Control Units (ECUs) which it exports to more than 20 countries across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and parts of Europe.
“What sets us apart is our ecosystem approach. We don’t just supply products; we invest in long-term partnerships by offering technical support and extensive training,” he said.
He said the company had trained more than 300 Nigerian technicians free of charge under its “We Fix It 45” initiative, contributing to over 11,000 CNG vehicle conversions in the country in the last three years.
He commended the Presidential Initiative on CNG (PiCNG) and Electric Vehicles (EVs), describing it as a major catalyst for Nigeria’s transition from petrol to CNG for enhanced cost efficiency and environmental safety.
Bohhra added that Mijo and Alfa Designs were working closely with government and private-sector players to expand access to cleaner and more sustainable transport solutions.
“Our partnership with Alfa Designs blends Indian engineering excellence with Nigerian innovation. Together, we are committed to making CNG adoption more viable, affordable and sustainable,” he said.(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
