The Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has commended the Open Hands Amazing Charitable Organisation for providing medical items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across the state.

Open Hands is a humanitarian group based in New York.

The commendation is contained in an appreciation letter by its Executive Secretary, Dr Echuseh Audu, made available to newsmen on Saturday in Jalingo.

The agency said that the intervention by the organisation came at a critical time, when displaced families had shortage of medical supplies.

He said that the donation will significantly enhance healthcare delivery in IDP camps as well as host communities, and ensure that vulnerable children, women, and elderly, receive timely treatment.

“The organisation’s support is a demonstration of compassion and global responsibility; SEMA values the growing partnership and looks forward to continued collaboration aimed at restoring hope and dignity to affected population,” she said.

The items were provided by efforts of Executive Director of the organisation, Dr Magdalene Agada, and presented on her behalf by Mr Gabriel Olayinka.

He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to strengthening healthcare systems in communities grappling with humanitarian crises.

Meanwhile, the organisation commended the state government for partnering with global organisations in this regard, and thanked SEMA for its humanitarian efforts. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
