Patience Jonathan, women affairs minister, others bag excellence awards

A former First Lady, Dr Patience Jonathan, has bagged the Top 10 Magazine Excellence Awards 2025 for Most Inspirational Woman of the Year.

The former first lady received the award during the 10th edition of the annual Top 10 Magazine Excellence awards held  in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Top 10 Magazine Excellence awards is an annual events organised by the Top 10 Magazine for the recognition of individuals who impacted positively in the development of different sectors of the economy.

Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, bagged Minister of the Year Award while the Minister of women Affairs, Hajia Imaan Ibrahim, bagged Woman of the Year Award.

The Director-General of NTA, Malam  Abdulhahid Dembos, bagged the Transformational Media Personality of the Year.

Alh. Nasiru Danu, Chairman, Casiva Limited, received the Man of the year award while Sen. Osita Izunaso was honoured with the Legislator of the Year Award.

Many other distinguished personalities also bagged the 2025 Top 10 Magazine Excellence Awards for their positive impacts across various sectors of the society.

Former Nigeria’s Chief of Army staff, Tukur Buratai, who received the award on behalf of Danu, applauded the organisers for the honour given to individuals who had made tirelessly contributions towards driving the economy.

He said that Danu had contributed significantly to Nigeria’s long-term economic growth and development.

According to him, Danu has recently invested resources towards driving the economy and has opened up more business opportunities through various laudable initiatives.

Mr John Gyang, Acting General Manager of NTA International, who represented Dembos, said the award was well deserving.

“The director-general is receiving this award today for the Transformational Media Personality of the Year; it shows what he has been doing over the years in NTA.

“It shows that people have been monitoring and watching; today really shows the impacts of the current transformational efforts that the present government is making under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“NTA has received a lot of intervention, and our production and transmission are being migrated from SD to HD; the quality of signal that we broadcast globally has improved; we now have clean and clear signals.

“We are the giant of Africa; we transmit all over the world; distance is not a barrier to us and we shape public opinion by setting agenda,’’ he said.

He said the excellence recognised by the award would be sustained through various programmes on NTA. (NAN)
