President Bola Tinubu on Friday joined political leaders and dignitaries at the wedding fatiha of children of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, held at the National Mosque, Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ceremony attracted prominent personalities from within and outside Nigeria.
Among the guests was the President of São Tomé and Príncipe, Carlos Vila Nova, who attended alongside Tinubu.
Also present were the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Jubril Barau, and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Politics and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari.
Governors at the event included Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, and Nasir Idris of Kebbi.
The event was conducted in accordance with Islamic rites and featured prayers and goodwill messages.
NAN reports that Matawalle, a former governor of Zamfara gave out five of his daughters; Maryam, Safiyya, Farida, Nana Firdausi, and Aisha—in marriage.
Five of his sons; Ibrahim, Abdul Jalal, Surajo, Bello, and Fahad also got married.
Tinubu received the brides on behalf of the Matawalles into the family.
The officiating Imam, Prof. Luqman Zakariyah prayed Allah to bless the marriages, grant success to the couples in their life journeys, and bless their parents and grandparents.(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
