House of Reps aspirant begs Nigerians, institutions for free, fair elections

Lagos, Feb. 12, 2026 (NAN) Mr Felix Onwurah, an aspirant for the House of Representatives, has appealed to Nigerians and the relevant institutions to show more commitment to free, fair and credible elections to deepen democracy.

 

 

 

Onwurah, who aspires to represent Ojo Lagos Federal Constituency of Lagos State, made the appeal on Thursday in Lagos

 

 

 

Onwurah, a member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), said that free and fair elections would guarantee credible leadership.

 

 

 

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Onwurah spoke at the APGA secretariat at Ojo, where he met with other members of APGA in the constituency.

 

 

 

He described political offices as positions for service, saying that Nigerians deserved effective representation and selfless service.

 

 

 

He said that youth empowerment,

 

support for small scale businesses as well as provision of basic amenities should be the concern of all public office holders.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

According to Nworah, improved education and healthcare should also be given priority attention by elected public officers.

 

 

 

He emphasised the need for accessibility and accountability by elected officials.

 

 

 

Onwurah said that Ojo Federal Constituency deserved quality representation.

 

 

 

He said there was the need to tackle rising youth unemployment in the area through establishment of skills acquisition centres.
