Students competed in Mathematics, Sciences and general knowledge, receiving gifts in their respective categories.

Other schools present included Grace School, Gbagada; Edidot College, Ajah; Albesta Academy, Lekki; and L.H.S College, Ota.

Also in attendance were Greenfield Comprehensive College, Lekki; Christ the King School; New Gate College, Ikorodu; and The Potters Land School.

In his opening remarks, Dr Olusegun Ogunsola, Executive Head of Schools (Academic), Chrisland Schools, explained the foundation’s vision.

“The Foundation was established to expand its impact beyond school ownership and create broader opportunities for young learners to excel,” he said.

According to Ogunsola, the initiative of Dr Winifred Awosika, Founder of Chrisland Schools, promotes healthy competition, collaboration and global engagement.

“This 12th edition is a masterpiece. The Foundation sustains healthy competition, unites brilliant learners and nurtures global citizens,” he added.

Guest speaker, Mr Babasola Titus, NECO State Coordinator in Lagos, described examinations as a process of testing knowledge and proficiency.

“Examination preparation begins on the first day of resumption, not when the timetable is released,” he said.

Titus, represented by Adetoun Adejobi, a NECO official, identified schools, students and parents as key stakeholders in examination success.

“Schools must provide enabling environments and qualified teachers, while parents create peaceful homes that support learning,” he added.

Mrs Juliet Udo, Head of School, Chrisland Pre-Degree College, described the 12th edition as a significant improvement.

“The school that came first truly deserved the win because they were prepared and determined,” she said.

Udo said the competition stretched students beyond the curriculum, encouraging research and awareness of current affairs.

“It goes beyond classroom teaching. Students must be well read and informed, while parents monitor screen time,” she added.

UNILAG International School, Fountain Heights, Caleb British International School, Whitedove Schools and Dansol High School also participated, receiving consolation prizes. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
