Dr Patrick Ezie, Chief Executive Officer of Silver-Cross Hospital and Foundation, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.
Ezie made this known on Thursday at a meeting with party members, stating that he would contest to represent the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and Bwari Federal Constituency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He said that seeking elective office required collective support, which informed his decision to formally inform party leaders and faithful of his ambition.
“That is why I said I must come here and let the party faithful and leaders know my intention, because even if I am out there making noise, I can’t succeed without the grassroots.
“We thank God that God has spared our lives today, and I have officially volunteered myself for the position of member, House of Representatives, for the coming election in 2027.
“By profession, I am a medical doctor, an entrepreneur, and a philanthropist. I have worked in the Bwari Area Council and AMAC for over 13 to 15 years,” he said.
Ezie added that he would share further details of his profile, noting that he is the Chief Medical Director and founder of Silver-Cross Hospital, with branches in Gwarinpa, Kubwa, and Wuse II.
“We have been able to support some contestants during elections with free medical outreaches,” he said.
He said his approach to politics would be guided by service to the people, stressing that engagement with communities would begin ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We will start from today to reach out to communities. So when they say, ‘what has ADC done for you?’ ADC has been doing things even before they enter. So that is my philosophy,” he said.
Ezie said his campaign would focus on infrastructure development, healthcare, women empowerment, and job creation.
“As a businessman, I am already an employer of labour, but what I intend to do is expand opportunities so that when our young people come out, they have jobs,” he said.
He added that women’s health and inclusion would also receive attention, alongside efforts to strengthen the healthcare system, especially primary healthcare centres.
Ezie further said he would prioritise roads, bridges, electricity, and other infrastructure, noting that such improvements were achievable with the right leadership. (NAN)
