Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun says he is confident of victory ahead of the Aug. 15 governorship election in the state.
Adeleke said this while inaugurating a 52-man campaign council on Tuesday in Osogbo.
“I am already feeling the cloud of victory around me, my team and our political party, the Accord. I am confident of victory and the defeat of our opponents. This team is heading for victory.
“My spirit tells me that our party, the Accord, will be declared winner by wide margins,” he said.
The governor described the inauguration of the campaign council as a march towards victory on election day, recalling that “this is how we started in 2022.”
“Today marks the beginning of our march to victory on Aug. 15. I hereby inaugurate this campaign council to the service of continuity and delivery of good governance,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the campaign council will be chaired by Prof. Wale Oladipo, a former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Lere Oyewumi, will serve as Director-General of the campaign, while the Commissioner for Information, Mr Kolapo Alimi, will serve as Deputy Director-General, among others. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
