The Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), has extolled President Bola Tinubu’s nomination of Amb. Olusola Enikanolaiye, as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The Director-General of the NIIA, Prof. Eghosa Osaghae, in a congratulatory message to Enikanolaiye, described him as, the ‘Dictionary’ and ‘Encyclopedia’ of Nigerian foreign policy and diplomacy.
He disclosed that Enikanolaiye’s wealth of experience distinguished him as diplomat, technocrat, civil servant and permanent-secretary, director of geopolitical affairs and military strategy at the National Defence College.
Osaghae said, “Your well-known professionalism, patriotism and devotion to national progress, make you eminently deserving of the appointment to the exalted position. Indeed, the appointment has certainly put a round peg in a round hole, as the saying goes.
“Nothing shows this better than your reputation as the ‘Dictionary’ and ‘Encyclopedia’ of Nigerian foreign policy and diplomacy.
“Your appointment, therefore, brings with it, a breadth of fresh air, and for this reason, the expectations, goodwill and support, the kinds that are conducive to success, are high and in abundance, and should motivate you to success.”
He said also that Enikanolaiye’s previous position as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations, enabled him demonstrate outstanding leadership, where he recorded monumental accomplishments.
The director-general on behalf of his family and all at the NIIA wished Enikanolaiye an exemplary and success-filled tenure with God-directed steps, as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. (NAN)
