The Ninzo Community Development Association (NCDA) has called for the equipping and staffing of the rural hospital in Fadan Ninzo community of Sanga Local Government Area (LGA) in Kaduna.
The association’s President, Prof. Aku Amboson, made the call at the annual Ninzo Cultural Festival in Fadan Ninzo.
Amboson said the hospital urgently required resident doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff to ease the hardship faced by residents.
He said that the move would also facilitate access to quality health care services within the area and make the community more productive.
He also urged Gov. Uba Sani to construct roads linking the Ninzo Chiefdom with neighbouring chiefdoms to boost development.
According to him, insecurity can be reduced through adequate investment in rural development.
“Government can ensure that adequate resources are made available for rural development to reduce unemployment, restiveness, and poverty in Ninzo Chiefdom,” he said.
Amboson also called for the completion and upgrading of the Sanga South Development Area Office into a vocational centre to enhance human capacity development within the chiefdom.
He further appealed for the restoration of the original name and structure of the Ninzo Chiefdom.
“This celebration will be incomplete without Ninzo people requesting for the restoration of the name of their chiefdom to the original name: Ninzo Chiefdom with the six districts that were abrogated by the immediate past government,” he said.
He stressed that development required collective efforts and urged all indigenes to contribute to the growth of the area.
“We cannot enjoy or watch the colourful traditional displays and dances and return to our destinations without sowing a seed in our chiefdom.
“No one will develop Ninzo Chiefdom for us but ourselves. If you love Ninzo, be patriotic and zealous in transforming Ninzo Chiefdom,” he said.
Similarly, Alhaji Umar Musa, the Uchu of Ninzo, appealed to the governor to construct access roads to improve economic activities.
The traditional ruler specifically called for roads linking Fadan Ninzo with Agamati Chiefdom, as well as routes to Wamba and Akwanga in Nasarawa State.
“Apart from the only road that links the chiefdom with Gwantu, the headquarters of Sanga LGA, the chiefdom is landlocked with no easy access roads to our neighbours in Fadan Ayu Chiefdom or to Wamba and Akwanga LGAs in Nasarawa state.
“We appeal to the government to construct the access road that will link the chiefdom with Wamba through the Abu community.
“We want the government to link the chiefdom with Akwanga in Nasarawa State from Randa to Katarza to Akwanga,” he said.
He also advocated the establishment of a cottage industry to create jobs for youths and the upgrading of the chiefdom to first-class status.
In his remarks, Gov. Uba Sani said festivals play a key role in preserving cultural heritage.
Represented by his Counsellor for Political Affairs, Ado Dogo, he urged communities to use such platforms to promote unity and development.
He added that communities would participate in prioritising projects under the N100 million allocation approved for each of the 255 political wards in the 2026 budget.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event, themed ‘Harmony with Nature: Celebrating Indigenous Roots,’ is organised annually to promote the culture of the Ninzo people in Sanga LGA.
The event also featured a fundraiser for the proposed Ninzo Empowerment Centre.
Highlights included the crowning of Miss Ninzo, cultural displays and musical performances. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
