The Kibaku Area Development Association (KADA) has called for urgent intervention by the Federal Government and the international community over renewed attacks and displacement in Kautikari and neighbouring communities in Chibok, Borno.

The appeal is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the association’s National President, Mr Nkeki Mutah, and National General Secretary, Mr Ayuba Chiroma.

KADA expressed concern over what it described as recurring and coordinated attacks by Boko Haram insurgents, which have forced residents to flee their homes and live in fear.

The association said the situation in Kautikari and other Kibaku communities had worsened, with persistent attacks disrupting livelihoods, destroying property and deepening the humanitarian crisis.

It called on security agencies to take immediate and decisive action to protect lives and restore peace in the affected areas.

“The people of these communities have endured prolonged suffering with little relief.

“We urge the Federal Government, security agencies and the international community to act swiftly to halt these attacks and ensure the safe return of displaced residents,” the association said.

KADA also appealed to humanitarian organisations to provide urgent support to displaced persons, especially women and children.

It further stressed the need for stakeholders to prioritise the security of Chibok and its environs, noting that sustainable peace was essential for rebuilding communities and restoring normalcy.

The association reaffirmed its commitment to advocating the safety and welfare of the Kibaku people and called for collective efforts to end insurgency in the region. (NAN)
