Al-Habibiyah Islamic Society has urged children to obey their parents and constituted authority, as Sallah celebration came as a result of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to Almighty Allah.

The Wife of the Society’s founder, Hajia Haulat A-Fuad, gave the advice in Abuja on Saturday at the Third Sallah Funfair, organised by the Women’s Forum of the Al-Habibiyah Islamic Society.

A-Fuad said, “My message to the children is obedience. This celebration came as a result of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to Almighty Allah via his child, Prophet Ismail being obedient to him.

“We can see that obedience is the connecting word. So, children should be obedient to their parents, and we as mothers should be obedient to our husbands.

“When we obey the laws of the land, things will be easy. Because even the Quran says emphatically that we should obey the constituted authority.”

In her remarks, the Chairperson of the occasion, Hajia Amina Abdulmalik, described the Sallah funfair as the celebration of obedience.

“For the children, celebrating Eid-el-Kabir is also celebrating obedience, because Prophet Ibrahim’s son, Ismail, was obedient to his father.

“It is a good example for them to emulate, that when you obey your parents, Allah will bless you,” she said.

Hajia Habiba Ahmed, the Director, Endowment and Empowerment of Al-Habibiyah Islamic Society, said Eid-el-Kabir meant sacrifice, as it is in commemoration of when Prophet Ibrahim had to sacrifice his son, Prophet Ismail.

According to her, this teaches us patience and perseverance and obedience. Ibrahim was patient with what Allah instructed him to do.

“He made a promise and Allah asked him to fulfil his promise. So, there are three things. If you make a promise, you have to fulfil it.

“Then you have to persevere in any circumstances that you find yourself. You have to be patient, because as time passes, nothing remains stagnant. There are ups and downs in life.

“When you find yourself in a situation where things are very difficult, you have to be patient,” she said

“Speaking on behalf of the children, Miss Ibrahim Zainab, described the funfair as interactive.

“I have made new friends. Itis very interactive,” she said(NAN)
