Oniru of Iruland, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II, says he will continue to pursue the Let’s Grow Iruland Together (#LeGIT) vision aimed at building an Iruland that is Lagos-aligned, environmentally sustainable, globally competitive, innovation-driven and technology-enabled.

Lawal stated this in Lagos while marking the sixth anniversary of his coronation.

He said the vision was designed to foster a resilient, economically vibrant and inclusive kingdom for present and future generations.

“Our vision is to build an Iruland that is Lagos-aligned, environmentally sustainable, globally competitive, innovation-driven and technology-enabled.

“We are committed to creating a resilient, economically vibrant and inclusive kingdom for present and future generations,” he said.

Lawal also called for unity, collaboration and innovation among stakeholders, noting that more work remained to be done to advance the kingdom’s development aspirations.

“While we celebrate our achievements, we recognise that there is still much work to be done. I call on all stakeholders to continue to embrace unity, collaboration and innovation as we advance the development of our kingdom.

“The story of Iruland is still being written, and I am confident that our finest chapters lie ahead,” he said.

Lawal thanked God, his ancestors, the people of Iruland and stakeholders for their support since his ascension to the throne in 2020.

Reflecting on his six years on the throne, he said the period had witnessed progress in cultural preservation, institutional strengthening, community development and economic advancement.

“Through strategic partnerships and a clear development agenda, we have continued to position Iruland as a hub of culture, enterprise, innovation and sustainable urban growth,” Lawal said.

He also appreciated the Lagos State Government, traditional rulers, members of the Oniru-in-Council, chiefs, elders, community leaders, residents and development partners for their contributions to the kingdom’s development.

He acknowledged the support of his wife, Olori Mariam Lawal, and members of his family throughout his reign.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event attracted clerics, dignitaries, traditional rulers, including the Oba of Lagos, senior police officers and other guests.

Presentations were made in honour of the ruler by various groups and associates.

His colleagues from Cadet ASP C/19/1996 of the Nigeria Police Force congratulated Lawal on the anniversary and commended his contributions to the development of Iruland.

They commended his transition from public service to traditional leadership and wished him continued wisdom, good health and strength.

The celebration featured prayers, Quranic recitations, cultural performances, music, dance and other social activities.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
