The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, Ms Grace Ike, says her Humanitarian and Service Award from All Saints Catholic Church is “an invitation to do more”.
Ike said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja.
She expressed gratitude to God and All Saints Catholic Church for honouring her with the award.
The chairman said she was honoured by the recognition from the church’s Laity Council.
“It is not just an award; it is an invitation to do more. I pledge to continue serving humanity and advancing the cause of journalism with humility and dedication, by God’s grace.
“I thank the organisers for recognising my work and for singling me out.
”I do not take this recognition lightly,” she said.
She dedicated the award to God and to all members of the NUJ-FCT Council
The accolade further cements a growing list of recognitions awarded to Comrade Ike for her professional excellence in journalism and her humanitarian efforts.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
