The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has reiterated that the list of its candidates for the National Assembly seats in the 2027 general elections remained unchanged.

In a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr Olawale Sadare, on Monday in Ibadan, APC said that the list remained unchanged as it emanated from the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party, processed from the results generated from the May primaries.

It added that the national secretariat of the party had uploaded the names of its three senatorial districts and 14 House of Representatives candidates for the state on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, as required by law.

This, the spokesman said, was followed with the filling of the Commission’s Nomination Forms by individual candidates at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja.

“It is a great surprise that some aspirants, who did not secure the desired party tickets are reported to be misleading the public with fake claims through social media, as their supporters do more to create crisis within the party.

“For the avoidance of doubt, nothing has changed from candidates’ list that was made public.

“The names submitted to INEC are as follows; Sen. Yunus Akintunde, Hon. Aderemi Oseni and Mrs Hannah Ogunesan as candidates for Oyo Central, Oyo South and Oyo North Senatorial Districts respectively.

“The House of Representatives candidates are; Hon. Akeem Adeyemi (Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West), Hon. Segun Odebunmi (Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere), Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun (Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West).

“Other candidates are; Hon. Akin Alabi (Egbeda/Ona-Ara), Hon. Olafisoye Akinmoyede (Akinyele/Lagelu), Hon. Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo (Ibadan North West/South West), Hon. Tolulope Akande-Shadipe (Oluyole).” Sadare said

Also on the list are: Rep. Olamijuwon Alao-Akala (Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire), Hon. Olatubosun Oladele (Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope), Hon. Umar Farouk Alao (Ibadan North), Hon. Ibrahim Iyiola (Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East).

“Others include Hon. Sarafa Olaoniye (Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North), Hon. Saheed Adejare (Kajola/Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa) and Hon. Yusuf Asimiyu Osuolale (Ibarapa East/Ido).

“We are using this medium to remind aspirants and stakeholders that the window of opportunity for nomination of candidates by political parties is already closed, ” Sadare said.

He urged individuals parading themselves as APC candidates illegally to desist from doing so or be ready for the consequences of their actions.

“There cannot be two candidates for a single ticket and as democrats, one should not make it a do-or-die affair,” he stated.(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
