The Deeper Christian Life Ministry on Thursday said that free medical outreaches, including surgeries, would be part of the August edition of its Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) at Ota, Ogun.
At a press conference at Ota, Pastor Joseph Fasanmi, the Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC) Overseer, Ogun West, said the medical outreaches would be followed by crusade from Aug. 26 to Aug. 30.
He said that the crusade would hold at the Anglican Church Grammar School, Abebi, Ota.
Fasanmi said the crusade would be held with the support of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun West Chapters.
He said that the five-day crusade would have the theme: “Total Transformation Through Christ”.

The pastor described the crusade as an opportunity for renewal and transformation in Ogun West.
“Today, we are not merely announcing another event. We are unveiling an opportunity – an opportunity for hope, renewal and transformation,” Fasanmi said.
He said the crusade would seek to address the spiritual, moral and social needs of Ota residents.
“The greatest transformation any society can experience is the transformation of its people.
“When the heart changes, homes change. When homes change, communities change. When communities change, nations change.
“That is why this crusade is not merely a religious gathering; it is a movement of hope, moral renewal and spiritual awakening,” Fasanmi added.
He said that the General Superintendent of the church and Convener of GCK, Pastor William Kumuyi, had, through more than five decades of ministry, impacted millions of lives across continents.
“We believe God will touch lives. We believe families will be restored. We believe young people will discover purpose. We believe communities will experience fresh hope.
“We believe that what has been impossible with men shall become possible with God.
“This crusade is open to every person. Whether you are Christian or not, whether you are rich or poor, educated or not, young or old,” Fasanmi said.
He said the global crusade would also feature the church’s All Believers’ Conference, with the theme: “Perfect Deliverance in a Shifting World” on Aug. 27 and Aug. 28 at the Christian Pentecostal Mission, Ota.
According to him, the conference is expected to strengthen Christians for victorious living.
He said the Impact Academy for Youth with the theme, “Transformed to Break Limits”, would also hold at the crusade venue.
Fasanmi said the youth programme was designed to equip young people with values and principles to help them to overcome limitations and fulfil their potential.
He called on traditional rulers, government officials, captains of industry, educational institutions, market associations, transport unions, artisans, youth organisations, women groups and community leaders to help to mobilise the public for the crusade.
Fasanmi gave the assurance that necessary arrangements had been made to ensure that the programmes would be peaceful and orderly.
The overseer urged residents of Ogun West to attend the crusade with their families, neighbours and friends, irrespective of their religious, social or political backgrounds.

A member of the event’s organising committee, Dr Olalekan Sokan, said the crusade would also feature a series of free medical and humanitarian interventions under the church’s Medical Missions and Prison Outreach.
Sokan said the church would hold a maternal and child health outreach on Aug. 23 at Landmark Executive Multipurpose Hall, Joju Road, Ota.
He said that other medical outreaches would take place on Aug. 24 at St. Michael’s Junior School, Ota, and on Aug. 25 at Deeper Life Regional Headquarters, Ntabo, Ijoko, Ota.
“These would include free general surgeries, free gynaecological, ophthalmological and dental consultations, care and treatments as well as outreach to inmates,” Sokan said.
He said that the free surgeries would be conducted on Aug. 24 and Aug. 25 at State Hospital, Ota, and General Hospital, Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area, by medical specialists.
Sokan said prospective beneficiaries of the surgeries would undergo pre-surgical screenings from Aug. 12 to Aug. 14.
He listed the screening centres as Anglican Church Grammar School, Ota, and Gateway African Church, Ikolaje, Idiroko.
Sokan said that the church would also conduct a prison outreach on Aug. 24 and Aug. 25.
He said the programme would provide spiritual encouragement, humanitarian assistance and messages of hope to inmates.
“These initiatives reflect the compassionate ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, who ministered not only to the spiritual needs of people but also to their physical, emotional and social well-being.”
The DLBC South-West Coordinating Overseer, Pastor Ayo Afolabi, said that GCK was aimed to reach out to people in distress and difficulties.
The Ogun West GCK Chairman, Pastor Gbadura Saka, urged Ota residents to participate in the programmes with faith to be able to receive miracles.
In their separate brief remarks, Rev. Mobolaji Sodiya, the PFN Deputy Regional Coordinator, Awori Region 1, and Rev. Adewale Francis, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Agbado Area, said the bodies were fully in support of the crusade.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
