Amadou Larwanou, popularly known as Wanousky Montana, says West African scenic spots, historical sites, flora and fauna are natural wonders that should boost global tourism if harnessed effectively.
Montana said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano, stressing the need to capitalise the region’s stunning landscapes and unique nature for growth.
He said he deliberately embarked on a tour of Niger as a travel documentary, recording cultural and iconic sites to promote the regions’ vast and colourful lifestyle.

“The emphasis is on recording culture in the regions, recording traditions, landscapes and everyday life.
“Since gaining an online following of more than three million followers across social media platforms, I have travelled across several countries performing comedy.
“Countries such as the United States, Belgium, Morocco, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Benin and Côte d’Ivoire where I’ve been, all need to know about our culture, traditions, landscapes and tourism.

“I had previously taken part in various public interest projects with the support of organisations such as the International Organisation for Migration, UNICEF and the World Food Programme on migration, education and sanitation.
“Now it’s time to showcase the beauty, the culture, and scenery of Niger and the West African region.
“The objective is the representation of Niger differently than usual, with an emphasis on the cultural heritage and tourist potential of the country.”

He said he was collaborating with Mai-Mota, an audiovisual studio, on the project.
Montana said, so far, his quest in Dosso, South-West Niger; Tahoua, Central Niger; and Agadez, Northern Niger/Sahara, were yielding positive results as Nigeriens were awakened to the values, worth and attachment to their country.
“We started in March 2026 and the benefits are immense, promoting tourism, culture, national pride, local businesses and Niger’s image.
“The overall benefits are cultural preservation, tourism growth, international exposure, economic opportunities, youth inspiration and national pride,” he said.
He, therefore, urged West African governments to support creatives in promoting the good and valuable potential of their countries.
Montana also urged Nigerian and other African artists and comedians to use their platforms to show the world the beauty, culture and potential of Africa.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
