Prof. Sunday Etukudoh says President Bola Tinubu’s courageous, visionary and reform-driven leadership will earn him a place in Nigeria’s history.

Etukudoh, immediate past Provost of the Federal College of Medical Laboratory Science and Technology, Jos, said this in a goodwill message marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

He congratulated Tinubu and Nigerians at home and abroad, describing the anniversary as an opportunity to celebrate the country’s resilience and enduring national spirit.

According to him, 66 years after independence, Nigeria remains a testament to the strength, sacrifice and determination of its people despite numerous challenges.

Etukudoh said Tinubu assumed leadership at a critical point in the nation’s journey and chose what he described as the harder path of reform.

‎He said the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda was repositioning Nigeria toward economic recovery, inclusive prosperity, national cohesion and sustainable development.

The professor said the reforms were difficult but necessary, adding that Nigerians should remain hopeful about the country’s future.

He urged leaders at all levels to prioritise the welfare of citizens while promoting peace, justice, prosperity and national unity.

Etukudoh also called on Nigerians to recognise the country’s diversity as a strength capable of driving national development and greatness.

He prayed for loyal and principled Nigerians who would support the President’s efforts toward what he described as the rebirth of the nation.

‎The former provost commended leaders whose activities, according to him, complemented the President’s vision across governance, education, health, energy and other sectors.

The professor described the President of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, as a stabilising legislative leader and praised his contribution to national development.

He commended Akpabio’s leadership of the Senate, describing his legislative approach as people-centred and supportive of efforts to build a united Nigeria.

‎Etukudoh said Akpabio’s role in the National Assembly complemented the administration’s development efforts, while urging continued cooperation among the executive and legislative arms.

‎He particularly acknowledged the contributions of Akwa Ibom Gov. Umo Eno and Deputy Gov. Akon Eyakenyi to development and governance in the state.

‎Etukudoh also commended Education Minister, Dr Morufu Alausa, for supporting specialised tertiary education and the establishment of the Federal University of Medical Laboratory Science and Technology, Jos.

He praised Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Pate, and Minister of State, Dr Iziaq Salako, for their contributions to healthcare development.

‎He also recognised Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, and former Health Minister, Prof. Isaac Adewole, for their service to Nigeria.

‎Etukudoh said the medical laboratory science and health communities appreciated what he described as purposeful leadership and efforts supporting progress in education and healthcare.

‎He prayed that God would grant Tinubu and other leaders wisdom, strength, good health and guidance as they steer the affairs of the country.

‎Etukudoh wished Tinubu, Akpabio, other leaders and Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary, praying for continued unity, peace and prosperity in the country.(NAN)
