The Nigeria Forward Project (NFP) has urged President Bola Tinubu’s appointees from the North to take his administration’s achievements to Nigerians at the grassroots.
NFP is a socio-political initiative established to promote national unity, citizen participation, collective responsibility and continuity in governance.
The Co-Convener of the project, Comrade Ibrahim Waiya, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.
Waiya said the call became necessary following a directive by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, urging ministers and other federal appointees to communicate the administration’s achievements more effectively.
He said the directive had become more significant as the country approaches the 2027 presidential election.
According to him, appointees from the North should use their positions to explain the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda and communicate the administration’s policies and achievements to citizens.
He urged them to take the message beyond Abuja to markets, farms, businesses, universities and communities across the country.
Waiya said the appointees should present measurable achievements and explain how government policies were creating opportunities, improving infrastructure, strengthening institutions and repositioning the economy.
“The aspirations of citizens must become the language of the campaign.
“The 2027 elections will ultimately belong to Nigerians. They will judge the administration by what they have seen, experienced and understood,” he said.
He urged the appointees not only to campaign for continuity but also to explain its importance and defend the administration’s record with evidence.
Waiya said the Renewed Hope Agenda should not remain a government slogan but become a story Nigerians could see and feel in their daily lives.
He called on the appointees to take the message to the grassroots and ensure that the administration’s achievements and vision were properly communicated to citizens.(NAN)
