Kaduna, Oct. 24, 2026 (NAN) Mr Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Enlightenment, says the Tinubu administration has achieved significant milestones and deserves re-election in 2027.
Abdulaziz said this on Saturday in Kaduna at the presidential campaign flag-off rally organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He said the campaign would focus on presenting evidence of the administration’s achievements rather than relying solely on political promises to convince Nigerians to support the president for another term.
“Actually, this time around, you know, this is a second-term campaign, which differs from the first time, and now, we are focusing on evidence,” Abdulaziz said.
He said that the campaign would highlight policies, programmes and projects implemented by the administration to demonstrate its performance and justify its request for another four-year mandate.
According to him, the government is presenting evidence of its achievements to Nigerians to enable them to assess its performance and make informed decisions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We are providing evidence to prove that the administration has done a lot and deserves to get re-elected,” he said.
Abdulaziz identified the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the administration’s significant initiatives, saying it had helped many students access higher education in spite of financial challenges.
He said the programme had provided opportunities for students who might otherwise have been forced to abandon their studies because of their inability to pay tuition and other institutional charges.
“We are showing them evidence of the thousands or, actually, millions of Nigerians who are on the NELFUND programme, who would otherwise not be in school,” he said.
The presidential aide added that beneficiaries were sharing personal experiences of how the initiative had helped them remain in school and continue pursuing their educational ambitions.
He said some students had also testified about classmates who were prevented from dropping out because of the financial assistance provided through the programme.
“We have students coming out to testify that NELFUND has saved them,” Abdulaziz said, describing the testimonies as important evidence of the initiative’s impact.
He maintained that such accounts would help Nigerians understand the practical benefits of the administration’s policies, particularly those designed to improve access to education and support young people.
Beyond education, Abdulaziz said the campaign would showcase government projects and programmes across different sectors, including developments in universities throughout the country.
“If you look around our universities all around the country, you will see new projects springing up,” he said.
He argued that the projects and programmes demonstrated the administration’s efforts to improve public institutions and strengthen opportunities for Nigerians, particularly students and young people.
Abdulaziz expressed confidence that the achievements would encourage voters to renew Tinubu’s mandate, insisting that the administration had made progress worthy of public recognition.
He also praised the president’s leadership qualities, particularly his willingness to make difficult decisions that he believed would benefit the country in the long term.
According to him, courage is a fundamental quality required of anyone seeking to provide effective leadership, especially when national development demands difficult policy choices.
“The capacity of the president is already proven for me, because he has shown that he has courage,” Abdulaziz said.
He added that Tinubu had demonstrated the willingness to pursue decisions aimed at addressing Nigeria’s challenges and creating a stronger foundation for future generations.
“Because, in truth, the most important quality in leadership is courage,” he said.
The presidential aide further expressed satisfaction with the turnout and enthusiasm displayed by supporters at the Kaduna rally, describing the atmosphere as an indication of public interest in the re-election campaign.
“You can feel the excitement. Really happy and jubilating,” he said, adding that the crowd’s enthusiasm reflected the supporters’ willingness to participate in the political process.
Abdulaziz said the Kaduna rally was only the beginning of a nationwide campaign expected to gather greater momentum as the APC campaign train visited other parts of the country.
“Today is just starting, but you can see the energy, you can see the crowd,” he said, expressing optimism that the campaign would attract more supporters in subsequent engagements.
He urged supporters to sustain the enthusiasm throughout the campaign and translate their participation into votes for Tinubu at the presidential election scheduled for Jan. 16, 2027.
Also speaking at the rally, Mr Otega Ogra, Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, said young people constituted a significant proportion of the crowd that gathered to demonstrate support for the president.
Ogra, who is also Deputy Director-General, Communication and Media, City Boys Movement, said his observations around Kaduna and at the rally venue indicated substantial youth participation.
“As you can see, I’ve driven around Kaduna this morning, I drove around Kaduna yesterday. Seventy per cent of the people on the street, 70 per cent of the people in this venue, are young people,” he said.
He noted that many of the young supporters were active on social media, while others had travelled from villages and neighbouring states to attend the rally and demonstrate their support for Tinubu.
Ogra said the participation of young people presented an opportunity for the campaign to communicate the administration’s achievements directly to voters and counter misinformation and disinformation circulating online.
He disclosed that the City Boys Movement had introduced a digital platform called Ask City Boy to provide information about the president’s achievements and the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to him, the platform would enable Nigerians to ask questions about government policies, projects and programmes and receive information through an interactive digital service.
“The City Boy Movement has come up with something new called ‘Ask City Boy’—askcityboy.com. Just go there, anything you need to know about Mr. President’s achievements, anything you need to know about what Renewed Hope has done in this country, just have a conversation with the app, and it will tell you,” Ogra said.
He maintained that the campaign was confident in its record and would use digital communication to present information about the administration’s performance to Nigerians.
He reiterated the movement’s commitment to mobilising supporters and communicating the administration’s record as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.
Ogra urged Nigerians to examine the administration’s policies and achievements while expressing confidence that Tinubu would secure another four-year term in office.
He said the campaign would continue to engage young people through digital platforms, public rallies and other communication channels to promote its message ahead of the election.(NAN)
