The Roscongress Foundation of Russia and African organisation, Jet Age Nation Builders (JANB), have signed a five-year cooperation agreement to promote youth engagement and strengthen institutional ties between both regions.
According to a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, the agreement was signed by Amb. Young-Piero Omatseye on behalf of JANB’s steering committee.
Omatseye is the organisation’s African Coordinator and Director of Parliament, African Union Commission Simulation Agenda 2063.
The agreement provides for direct engagement between youth associations, exchange of experiences in educational, social and entrepreneurial initiatives, and participation in international events organised by the foundation.
Alexander Stuglev, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Roscongress Foundation, said the agreement would expand engagement with youth organisations and support joint initiatives.
“A new generation of young professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders interested in international cooperation and joint projects is coming of age in Africa as we speak,” he said.
Stuglev said the partnership would also provide opportunities for young people to participate in international business and cultural events.
The agreement also establishes a framework for knowledge exchange, international networking, high-level forums and strategic partnerships between African and Russian institutions.
It seeks to strengthen institutional collaboration and create opportunities for young Africans to engage with Russian counterparts.
The signing took place during Russia–Africa engagements in Moscow, which also featured the participation of African Union Commission Chairperson, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.
The Roscongress Foundation organises international economic and business forums, while JANB focuses on youth engagement and institutional collaboration.
The five-year agreement is expected to provide a platform for sustained cooperation between the two organisations. (NAN) www.nannews.ng
