The International Centre for Regional Integration and Trade Research (ICRITR) will hold its 2026 International Conference on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in Abuja on Nov. 9 and Nov. 10.

The centre announced this in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.

It said the conference, themed “AfCFTA and the Geoeconomics of African States: Integration, Power, and Structural Transformation”, would bring together policymakers, academics, trade experts and other stakeholders.

It said Vice-President Kashim Shettima and former President Goodluck Jonathan were among the prominent personalities expected to attend.

Other expected participants include global leaders, policymakers, researchers and distinguished guests.

The organisers said the conference would provide a platform for dialogue, policy engagement and strategic collaboration to strengthen Africa’s position in the global economy.

They invited stakeholders, institutions, researchers and members of the public to participate in the conference. (NAN)
