ACCI urges sustained govt. support, stronger business policies

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has advocated sustainable government support for businesses and enhanced policies to improve ease of doing business for economic stability.

The President of the ACCI, Chief Emeka Obegolu, made the call in his Eid-el-Fitr message by the chamber’s Media and Strategy Officer, Mrs Olayemi John-Mensah, on Friday in Abuja.

Obegolu congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan, a month marked by devotion, sacrifice, discipline and spiritual renewal.

According to him, the values of patience, integrity and perseverance demonstrated during Ramadan are vital for building sustainable and thriving businesses.

He commended the resilience, commitment and entrepreneurial spirit of the business community in spite prevailing economic challenges.

The ACCI president urged government to sustain and enhance support for businesses to enable them operate in a more conducive environment.

He emphasised the need for policies that promote ease of doing business, improved access to finance and stronger infrastructure development.

He said that a stable economic climate was essential for enterprises to thrive and contribute meaningfully to national growth.

Obegolu, also a leader of the Organised Private Sector in Federal Capital Territory (FCT), urged businesses to remain innovative and optimistic.

He said their contributions remained critical to economic growth, job creation and national development.

He encouraged members of the business community to continue fostering unity and collaboration in their operations.

He also emphasised the importance of ethical business practices in strengthening the private sector.

According to him, collective efforts by businesses are key to overcoming economic challenges and unlocking new opportunities.

“As we celebrate Sallah, let us renew our commitment to peace, progress and prosperity, with the right support and shared vision, Nigeria could build a vibrant and resilient economy,” he said.

Obegolu extended warm Sallah wishes to members of the chamber and the wider business community and prayed for a peaceful, joyful and prosperous celebration for all. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
