The “Green Code, Chinese Wisdom” International Youth Dialogue on River and Lake Ecological Governance took place in Spain and Portugal. From September 28 to October 3. Hosted by Xinhua Daily Media Group and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, the event shared practical experience in ecological progress from China and Jiangsu through ecological exhibitions, youth dialogues, and other activities.
Jiangsu lies on China’s eastern coast, where rivers, lakes, and seas converge, giving the province its distinctive water-rich character. In August, the event invited UNESCO experts, scholars from Chinese and overseas universities, and international students to visit several cities in Jiangsu. The visit to Europe marks a two-way exchange that spans not only vast distances but also helps build a growing network for green cooperation.
As more people share green ideas and take part in environmental action, green becomes more than a shared goal—it becomes a common language across borders. That may be why the “Green Code” resonates with so many around the world.
