The China Government has announced plans to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq amid worsening humanitarian conditions linked to ongoing regional conflict.
Speaking at a regular press briefing on Tuesday, foreign ministry spokesperson, Lin Jian said the decision reflected China’s concern over the growing humanitarian crisis affecting civilians across the region.
“The ongoing conflict has inflicted severe humanitarian suffering on people in Iran and other countries in the region.
“China deeply sympathises with those affected,” Lin said.
He added that China remains committed to supporting efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability, including promoting a ceasefire and preventing further deterioration of humanitarian conditions.
According to Lin, the aid initiative is part of broader efforts by China to help alleviate immediate needs while contributing to long-term regional stability. ((Xinhua/NAN)/NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
