The Executive Chairman, Kogi Civil Service Commission, Mr Muhammed Tanko, has commended Gov. Ahmed Ododo for his humane disposition towards civil servants in the state.
Tanko gave the commendation on Wednesday in Lokoja while addressing members of staff of the commission.
He noted that the recent approval of cash-backing of promotions for civil servants in the state was the right step in the right direction.
“Today, we celebrate a major milestone in an effort to improve the welfare of the civil servants.
“The governor’s decision to put smiles on the faces of the civil servants is a testament to his unique style of leadership and commitment to the well-being of the workers,” Tanko said.
The chairman urged the civil servants to reciprocate the governor’s gesture by working hard with absolute dedication and commitment to their duties.
Also speaking, Mr Tade Adeyemi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service Matters, thanked Ododo for his commitment to the affairs of civil servants.
He urged the state workers to see the gesture as an opportunity to double their efforts for rapid transformation of the state.
Also, Mr Fabian Shaibu, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, expressed gratitude to the governor on behalf of the commission, describing him as the “Chief Servant indeed.”
He noted that the gesture goes beyond increment in salaries, emphasising that it was a sign of a renewed hope in the management of the state affairs. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
