A Magistrates’ Court in Abuja has adjourned until April 15 the case of alleged breach of trust and cheating filed against a civil servant, Priscilla Dombin.
The police charged Dombin with three counts of breach of trust, cheating and criminal intimidation.
Magistrate Lami Sani fixed the date after hearing the testimony of a businessman, Akin Oyegoke on Wednesday.
Oyegoke, in his testimony said he became friends with the defendant in 2021 and she promised to help him buy an SUV vehicle from the Nigeria Customs Service for six million Naira.
He said the defendant asked him to pay two million Naira for the purchase of the vehicle and later pay the balance of four million Naira when the vehicle is delivered to him.
According to him, the vehicle was never delivered after many years and the money which was deposited into the defendant’s account was not refunded.
He said that the defendant who apologised to him over the failed deal, promised to pay back the money.
“She later threatened to scatter my marriage if i mentioned the issue to anybody.
“I decided to report the matter to the police because of the threats, intimidation and blackmail from the defendant,” he told the court. (NAN)
