Zimbabwe Women’s U-19 thrashed Ghana by 180 runs after electing to bat in a commanding display at the fifth Nigeria Women’s Invitational T20I in Lagos.
The competition, known as the Patricia Kambarami Cup, honours the late ICC Africa Regional Development Manager and Titans Chief Operating Officer.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the match was held at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Lagos.
Openers Nicollete Nyika and Beloved Biza started brightly, racing to 52 runs in 4.2 overs before Nyika fell for 20 off 12 balls.
Biza maintained the momentum, batting with composure and aggression to keep Zimbabwe firmly on course for a formidable total.
Ghana claimed a second wicket in the 12th over as Christina Mutasa departed for 29 off 27 balls, but Zimbabwe stayed in control.
Biza struck an unbeaten 102 off 52 balls, while Lorraine Pemhiwa supported superbly with an unbeaten 60 off 32 deliveries.
In reply, Zimbabwe’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance, dismissing Ghana for just 45 runs in 18.3 overs.
Salem Museka led the attack with four wickets for eight runs, while Biza completed a fine all-round effort with three for 10.
Biza was named Player of the Match following Zimbabwe’s dominant victory.
