Director-General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, has urged Christians to use the period of Easter to pray for national unity and peace ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by Sulaiman’s Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri.
The director-general acknowledged the spiritual significance of Easter which, he said, embodied the spiritual landmark sacrifices made by Jesus Christ through His crucifixion and resurrection, signifying victory of light over darkness and life over death.
He, therefore, urged Christians to imbibe the enduring lessons drawn
from the sacrifices of Christ to advance the course of national peace, security, charity, fairness and peaceful co- existence.
While wishing Christians a peaceful, joyful and successful celebration, he urged them to dedicate special prayers for peace, progress and prosperity of the country before, during and after the 2027 elections.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
