Mr Taofik Adegbite, Chief Executive Officer, Marine Platforms Ltd. says strengthening indigenous technical capacity and expanding local participation in offshore operations remain critical to driving sustainable growth in Nigeria’s energy sector.
Adegbite said this in a statement on Monday as indigenous offshore engineering and subsea services firm, marked its 25th anniversary in Lagos.
He said the company would continue to invest in technical capability and service delivery to support Nigeria’s offshore energy ecosystem.
According to him, building strong local capacity is essential for Nigeria to handle complex offshore projects and retain more value within the energy industry.
“While the 25-year milestone offers an opportunity for reflection, our focus remains firmly on the future.
“We will continue to strengthen our operational capabilities, expand technical capacity and deliver sustainable value to our clients and stakeholders,” Adegbite said.
He added that the company’s long-term strategy was anchored on safety, client-centric service delivery, integrity, teamwork and quality, alongside a strong commitment to environmental, social and governance principles.
Founded as a local offshore services provider, Marine Platforms has grown into a subsea engineering and offshore construction company delivering services to major energy operators in Nigeria and across sub-Saharan Africa.
He said part of the ccompany’s rowth could be attributed to the local content policy framework and the support of some institutions.
Adegbite noted that such institutions included such as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd., Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission and Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.
Adegbite said a key milestone in the company’s expansion was its strategic investment in subsea assets, including 13 work-class remotely operated vehicles and a fleet of specialised offshore vessels.
The vessels include African Vision, African Inspiration, African Concept, African Pioneer and African-China Global 1200, a deepwater heavy-lift and pipelay vessel.
According to him, these assets have strengthened the company’s ability to execute engineering, procurement, construction and installation projects in both deepwater and shallow-water environments.
Marine Platforms also provides subsea services such as remotely operated vehicle operations, inspection, repair and maintenance, as well as transportation and installation of subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines.
Adegbite said the company remained committed to advancing Nigeria’s local content objectives through continued investment in technical training and capacity development, particularly in specialised subsea operations.(NAN)
