The First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu will champion advocacy on the national programme on energies innovation and commercialisation geared towards nation’s economy development.
Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr Kingsley Udeh disclosed this after a meeting with the First Lady in the State House.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the minister said the programme, under the ministry, was part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and connected with Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) of the First Lady
He added that the programme aimed at job creation, commercialisation of innovative works to help boost the economy and for sustainability.
Udeh said that the involvement of the first lady would ensure that the programme is delivered nationwide.
According to the minister, the project would boost economic growth and strengthen the financial capacity of the people through the things they produce.
”I came to brief her on this national programme which connect research outcomes and inventions, done in our high and research institutions, across public and the private sectors, to the markets.
”This will help by connecting researchers, inventors and innovators to investors.
“The Federal Government will de-risk these investments to give confidence to the investors,” he said
Udeh said the government is leveraging on the First Lady RHI platform to reach Nigerians in the grassroots who would key into the innovation.
”Her being part of this, is a major boost to the projects,” he said. (NAN)
