A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Lagos State, Mr Laja Adeoye, on Sunday said 2027 would mark the end of the long reign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Adeoye, a real estate mogul, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

According to him, Lagos residents are tired of the excuses of the APC and will vote the party out in 2027.

“If you ask anyone about what APC has done all these years in terms of governance, many Lagos residents will tell you the party has not done much.

“Just look at the infrastructure deficit in the state, the traffic problem, the arbitrary high cost of living, lack of potable water in many communities, environmental pollution and so many other problems, you will agree with me that nothing is working.

“Lagos residents are tired of APC; they deserve better. Mark my words, 2027 will be the beginning the end of APC rule in the state. The party will be voted out,” he said.

Adeoye said residents were yearning for a new beginning and a different government that could guarantee progress and security.

The PDP aspirant, who is the Managing Director of Fendini Homes, said the party remained the only alternative that could challenge the APC and improve governance in Lagos.

“PDP is the future and that new beginning. With the people on our side, the party will rule the state in 2027 and beyond, and give residents the kind of government they deserve,” he said.

Adeoye said his decision to join the governorship race was to rescue the state from its “coma state”, vowing to unseat the APC in 2027.

“We can do it and that is why I am in the race. We will fix the problems. We have our plans and strategy, but we will not unveil them until campaign starts.

“We have our solutions ready: solutions to housing deficit, to infrastructural decay, to demoralised civil service, to shrinking opportunities and insecurity.

“I am passionate about a prosperous Lagos, and by God’s grace, 2027 is the appointed time,” he said.

He said disagreements within the PDP were being resolved and that the party would emerge stronger ahead of the 2027 elections.

Adeoye expressed confidence that he would secure the PDP ticket to dislodge the APC in the state.

“The endorsements we have been getting are clear signs that we are accepted by Lagosians. By God’s grace, we will get there and we will not disappoint,” he said. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
