The Crescent Pearls Technical College of Education has been formally inaugurated, marking a significant development in efforts to strengthen teacher education in Nigeria.

The institution secured provisional approval from the National Commission for Colleges of Education in May 2024, while the grand opening unveiled facilities designed to meet required academic and professional standards.

Speaking at the grand opening ceremony of the institution on Tuesday in Abuja, the founder, Abiola Abdulrasheed, said the college responded strategically to the need for technically skilled and professionally trained educators in Nigeria.

Abdulrasheed said over 16 years of advancing primary and secondary education inspired the vision to establish a standard-driven tertiary institution.

According to her, the college is positioned to produce competent, innovative, and globally competitive teachers who will contribute meaningfully to national development and the growth of Nigeria’s economy.

She said the institution had established robust academic and administrative frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in teacher education.

She added that the college features modern lecture theatres, laboratories, administrative offices and student-friendly facilities to promote innovation, research and leadership development.

With the opening, the college joins privately owned technical institutions working to strengthen teacher education and address gaps in Nigeria’s education system. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
