Chinese firms train 150 solar panel installers, distributors in Lagos (Page 368)

In a bid to increase access to clean energy, no fewer than 150 solar panel installers, and distributors were trained in Lagos on Wednesday, empowering them to serve more homes and businesses.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the training, with the theme, “Unveiling a Future with Renewable Energy in Nigeria”, was organised by C&D, a Chinese supply chain company, in partnership with AIpsolarr and Suness, Chinese solar energy companies.

Speaking at the event, Mr Luo Zhangbao, C&D Regional Manager, emphasised the need for collaboration to turn Nigeria’s energy challenges into opportunities.

“For us as a partner company, we want to train more Nigerian youth installers. We want them to know more skills. We also want people to know that the renewable energy space is not just about panels, inverters and solar. We want them to know about the economic benefits it can bring.

“Also, we want to create more awareness about clean energy in Nigeria. As the world transitions, we do not want to be left behind. We also want to follow this trajectory and to also cut costs to be able to build our industries because one of the things that is drawing back our industry is power.

“So, in a bid to provide sustainable power and alternative power for people, we want to train people in a way to use alternative power. So, this is why we’re doing the training,” he said.

He said the event was also an avenue for the solar energy companies to know what is obtainable in the market and then to train people.

He said C&D had built a network connecting over 170 countries and regions.
