Rep. Eugene Dibiagwu, representing Ohaji-Egbema/Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency of Imo in the House of Representatives, says he has changed the narrative in legislative representation in his constituency.

Dibiagwu stated this at an Easter party he hosted for members of Izombe Central Union (ICU), Abuja branch, on Sunday in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Dibiagwu gave the group bags of rice, cartons of vegetable oil and cash for them to celebrate the Easter.

According to him, the gesture is to enable his constituents enjoy Christmas and Easter celebrations with others.

He said that since his assumption of office, so many things were being done for the constituents, which most of them said were unprecedented.

The lawmaker reeled out a number of projects he had attracted to his constituency since assumption of office as well as empowerment and other things he had achieved since 2023.

According to him, all he is doing is a demonstration of his personal disposition to serving his people.

“Last Christmas, I hosted the end-of-the-year party for you here. While you were here enjoying, those at home were equally enjoying theirs.

“As you are here enjoying today, four trailer loads of rice are on the way to Imo for our constituency.

“Each of the three local government areas that constitutes our federal constituency shall get one trailer load, while the remaining one shall be for security agencies and other stakeholders,” he said.

Dibiagwu disclosed that he shared vehicles to some stakeholders in March after a mega-empowerment in March 2025 during which he spent more than a billion Naira, to ensure that his people enjoyed dividends of democracy.

He also said that many people had been empowered while others got employment through him, adding in about two weeks’ time, he hoped to secure yet three more federal jobs for his people.

Dibiagwu announced that before the end of the year, he would hold another empowerment programme for members of ICU, Abuja branch, to further support Izombe people in the FCT.

`The motive of this is to ensure that our people in Abuja equally benefit from democracy dividends as people from the oil-rich Ohaji-Egbema/Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency.

“What is good for the geese is equally good for the gender, and all of these I’m doing are seriously changing the narrative in our area in terms of representation.” he said.

The lawmaker, while also urging the people to imbibe the lessons of Easter, stressed the need for them to be united and work together.

He assured that he would continue to identify with the body as an illustrious son of the community, even as he commended the leadership of the branch for managing the group as a united front.

Some of the leaders of the union who spoke, including Retired Brig.-Gen. Kalu Egwuagu, Rev. Eze Obizue, Chief Jude Fadas, Mr Alex Ihesie and Mr Valentine Onwuka, commended Dibiagwu for his love and disposition toward the people of his constituency.

“We have had our people representing our constituency in the past, but none had identified with us the manner you are doing, and we are most grateful,” Onwuka, Chairman, ICU, Abuja, said.

Mrs Faustina Nwagazue, the Chairperson, Women wing, ICU, Abuja branch, also prayed God to continue to bless and protect Dibiagwu and his family, especially in his future political aspirations.(NAN)(wwe.nannews.ng)
