By Muhyideen Jimoh
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr Ismael Ahmed as the Executive Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi).
This is contained in a statement signed by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Friday in Abuja.
According to the statement, Ahmed will oversee the operations of the presidential initiative, aimed at mitigating the impact of the removal of fuel subsidies.
The PCNGi, a key component of the Tinubu administration’s palliative intervention programme, promotes the adoption of cheaper, more affordable, and environmentally friendly energy alternatives.
Ahmed, 45, is a graduate of the University of Abuja, where he earned a Bachelor of Law degree in 2005.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006, after completing his studies at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja.
The new appointee later obtained a master’s degree in International Relations, Communications, and Diplomacy from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, in 2008.
From 2018 to 2022, Ahmed served as the Senior Special Assistant to former President Muhammadu Buhari on the National Social Investment Programme(NSIP). (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
