The Tinubu Media Force (TMF), a support group for President Bola Tinubu, says Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s recent remarks on Nigeria’s economic trajectory is a clear and independent validation of Tinubu’s progressive governance.

The TMF National Coordinator, Mr Oluwagbenga Abiola, said this in a statement on Friday in Lagos.

Abiola was reacting to Okonjo-Iweala, ‘s commendation of the President’s economic policies.

Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of World Trade Organisation(WTO), on Thursday commended Tinubu for working to stabilise the economy, saying his administration’s reforms are moving in the right direction.

Okonjo-Iweala, a globally respected economist and a former Minister of Finance, spoke to State House correspondents after a courtesy visit to the President on Thursday in Abuja.

He said: “For the Tinubu Media Force, this endorsement is further proof that the administration’s reforms are laying the right foundations for sustainable growth.

“Economic data support this view. Nigeria’s GDP grew by 3.13 per cent in the first quarter of 2025, with the services sector surging by over 5 per cent.

“The Tinubu administration is targeting 7 per cent annual growth by 2027 and a quadrupling of the economy by 2030, anchored on a rebased GDP of N372.8 trillion. Key reforms span energy, transport, education, agriculture, and industry.”

Noting that education remains a flagship priority for Tinubu’s administration, Abiola said that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) had disbursed over N104 billion to no fewer than 600,000 students in federal tertiary institutions.

According to him, this includes N20.07 billion in tuition payments to 192,906 students and N12.82 billion in stipends to 169,114 students.

“With over 9,000 applications processed daily, the scheme has been described as a lifeline for Nigerian families,” he said.

On infrastructure, Abiola said that the administration was driving landmark projects such as the 700km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, projected at $11 billion to connect nine states and create millions of jobs.

“Work on the first 47.47km segment is underway, backed by $747 million in funding,” he said.

Abiola said that other major road projects include the 1,000km Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, dualisation of the Kano–Maiduguri Road, rehabilitation of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road, and reconstruction of over 330 roads and bridges across the country.

According to him, beyond roads, the government has launched construction of 10,000 affordable housing units, expanded the national health insurance scheme to include children, improved passport processing, and stabilised electricity supply across board.

He said that the government has also commissioned new federal medical centres for affordable access to health care .

“Agricultural reforms and the introduction of compressed natural gas (CNG) as an affordable transport fuel are also expected to reduce food and transportation costs,” he said.

According to him, the proposed tax reform bill also aims to ease burdens on low and middle income earners by eliminating regressive levies, simplifying tax collection, and focusing more on high income sectors and large corporations.

Commending Okonjo-Iweala for her “objective and fact-based” analysis, Abiola urged commentators to evaluate the administration’s performance on measurable achievements rather than partisan narratives. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)

The Tinubu Media Force (TMF), a group advocating support for President Bola Tinubu, has urged state governors to invest in food production and human capital development to empower residents and ensure food security in their respective states

The TMF National Coordinator, Mr Gbenga Abiola, made this appeal in a statement on Thursday in Lagos, following the group’s strategic meeting.

According to Abiola, governors must align their policies with Tinubu’s economic vision, which focuses on human capital development, food affordability, and access to innovative transport services.

Abiola called for immediate and coordinated efforts at the sub-national level to address the country’s economic challenges.

According to him, addressing rising living costs and improving citizens’ quality of life requires a grassroots approach, anchored on education, healthcare, and skill development.

“Governors must prioritise investing in their people—especially in areas of education, healthcare, and skills training.

“This is the most effective way to build a self-reliant and globally competitive population that can drive long-term prosperity,” Abiola said.

He expressed concerns about rising prices of food items, describing it as one of the most urgent challenges facing Nigerians.

The coordinator urged governors to establish regional, state and local governments food hubs and frameworks for bulk purchasing, logistic control and price regulation of food prices.

“These hubs can help stabilise prices of staple goods and protect vulnerable households from the shocks of inflation,” he added.

Abiola pointed to Lagos State’s food logistics model as a successful example of how targeted interventions could moderate inflation and promote food access.

He encouraged other state governments to study and replicate the model in their respective states to ensure affordability.

In addition, Abiola called on governors to embrace the Federal Government’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) transportation strategy.

He added: “TMF recommends the rapid establishment of state-level CNG refueling stations and integration of CNG-powered buses into local transit systems.

“Investments in CNG infrastructure will not only reduce transportation costs by as much as 50 per cent but also unlock environmental and employment benefits.

“This is a clear opportunity for governors to deliver immediate relief to citizens and drive sustainable development.”

According to him, the Federal Government has already demonstrated commitment by distributing 64 CNG buses nationwide and securing over $791 million in investments targeted at expanding the CNG sector.

Calling for unity of purpose among state leaders, Abiola reaffirmed the group’s support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing the need for full collaboration between federal and state actors.

“Governors must rise to the moment. This is the time to invest in people, lower costs for the average Nigerian, and innovate for the future,” he said. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)

Tinubu support group dismisses ADC coalition

Tinubu support group dismisses ADC coalition

The Tinubu Media Force (TMF), a support group for President Bola Tinubu, says Nigerians will reject the opposition coalition and their new platform, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in 2027.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that opposition figures and aggrieved APC leaders have adopted the ADC as a platform to unseat Tinubu in 2027.

Reacting, TMF National Coordinator, Mr Gbenga Abiola, said on Wednesday the coalition was born from desperation, not conviction or a genuine desire to serve Nigerians.

He said: “The resurrection of the ADC is not based on principle, but is a desperate coalition of displaced politicians seeking lost relevance.

“It is neither visionary nor purposeful — just a forced alliance of familiar faces trying to revive their political careers without real solutions.”

According to him, the ADC is not a third force, but a weak version of the second — driven by frustration, not direction or unity of purpose.

“It is a patchwork held together by shared grievances, not shared goals or national interest.

“Nigerians must reject alliances offering only recycled chaos, unrepentant ambitions, and no clear path to progress or stability,” he said.

He said the coalition consists of two camps — ex-PDP powerbrokers and displaced APC elites from the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

He said the latter failed to hijack President Tinubu’s focused governance and thus chose to align with their former rivals.

“These individuals once wielded enormous influence and power under Buhari, controlling patronage and amassing vast wealth.

“However, Tinubu’s refusal to serve old interests or maintain outdated political structures has unsettled them deeply.

“Now, these power seekers stand with their former PDP rivals — under the ADC banner, craving control again,” he said.

Abiola said the name ‘ADC’ is phonetically similar to ‘APC’, a deliberate attempt to confuse unsuspecting voters.

“It is a low-effort strategy aimed at deception, but Nigerians are now more politically aware and discerning.

“We can see through the mimicry. This is not a movement — it’s a recycling hub for failed political ambition,” he said.

He said Tinubu’s government continues to deliver calm, focused, and policy-driven leadership across key sectors.

“From economic stabilisation to structural reforms, this administration is pursuing accountability, innovation, and national recovery.

“While the opposition distracts with noise, Nigerians are beginning to notice the difference sound leadership can make,” Abiola said.

He reaffirmed support for Tinubu’s vision and urged citizens to focus on lasting progress, not political distractions.

“We need builders of the future, not looters of past influence,” he added.

NAN recalls that ex-Senate President David Mark and ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola were named ADC Interim Chairman and Secretary, respectively, on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Mark officially launched the ADC as the platform for the National Coalition of Political Opposition Movement.

Prominent opposition figures present included Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Datti Baba-Ahmed, and Rotimi Amaechi.

Others included Nasir El-Rufai, Abubakar Malami, Aminu Tambuwal, Ireti Kingibe, Liyel Imoke, and Bolaji Abdullahi.

Also in attendance were John Oyegun, Gabriel Suswam, Tunde Ogbeha, Mohammed Abubakar, Emeka Ihedioha, and Oserheimen Osunbor.

Victor Umeh, Celestine Omehia, Abdulfatah Ahmed, Bindow Jibrilla, Babachir Lawal, Aishatu Binani, and Dele Momodu also attended.

Sen. Dino Melaye, Prof. Olushola Eleka, and Sen. Ishaku Abbo were likewise present at the event. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
