Tinubu approves Yunusa as new CMD of Abuja varsity teaching hospital

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Prof. Thairu Yunusa as the substantive Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada.

A statement by Sani Suleiman, Public Relations officer, UATH, said Yunusa was presented with the appointment letter by the coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, in his office in Abuja.

The new CMD has assumed office after receiving the handing over note from the Acting CMD, Prof. Bob Ukonu, at the premises of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada, Abuja.

Suleiman added that all the top management staff of the institution were in attendance at the ceremony.

He said that Yunusa was a professional team and led the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Isolation and treatment centre in Gwagwalada.

Responding on the assumption of office, Yunusa thanked the President for the appointment.

He promised to ensure health care service delivery to the people in line with the renewed hope agenda of the present administration.

Yunusa, who is also a consultant Physician, UN Severe Acute Respiratory Infection Isolation and Treatment, urged the management of the UATH to give him maximum support and cooperation to move the hospital forward.(NAN)
