Prof. Ben Ayade, former Governor of Cross River State, says the President Bola Tinubu-led administration is repositioning and reloading to create a new Nigeria that will make all citizens proud.
He made the remarks on Monday in Abuja while speaking with journalists at the conclusion of a road walk organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention Environment and Sanitation Sub-Committee.
Ayade, who is Co-chairman of the committee, said the administration had a clear agenda prioritising Nigerians above all else and ensuring governance benefited the people directly.
He commended the management of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for maintaining cleanliness in the city, describing it as a model for other states to emulate in environmental management.
The former governor also thanked members of the committee and members of the public who participated in the walk, lauding their commitment to supporting the APC ahead of the national convention.
“God will grant us a very successful convention and, ultimately, victory at the 2027 polls,” Ayade said, expressing confidence in the party’s preparedness and vision for Nigeria.
Also speaking, Sen. Uche Ekunife, Secretary of the committee, thanked participants for demonstrating that the APC was ready for the 2027 general election and to return President Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima.
“We are not just prepared for the forthcoming national convention; we are prepared for the 2027 election, when we will return President Tinubu and Vice-President Shettima to office,” Ekunife stated.
She added that the party was confident of a landslide victory in 2027, reflecting public approval of APC’s governance and the leadership of President Tinubu.
Alhaji Aminu Masari, Chairman of the APC National Convention Central Coordination Committee and former Governor of Katsina State, also expressed gratitude to members of the committee for their efforts and dedication.
Masari emphasised that the party had put measures in place to ensure the 2027 election was successfully contested and APC’s vision for a new Nigeria was fully realised.
He said that preparation for the election went beyond conventions, highlighting grassroots mobilisation, voter awareness, and strategic planning as key components of APC’s roadmap.
The road walk, according to organisers, was designed to engage citizens, promote cleanliness in Abuja, and symbolically demonstrate the party’s commitment to practical governance and civic responsibility.
Ayade reiterated that APC’s agenda was people-centred, focusing on national development, infrastructural growth, and enhancing public services to improve quality of life for Nigerians.
He ended by urging Nigerians to participate actively in national development, supporting policies and initiatives that promote progress, unity, and a cleaner, healthier environment across the country.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
