Turkish President Erdogan on Saturday spoke over the phone with the President of Iraq’s Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), Nechirvan Barzani, discussing the latest situation in the Persian Gulf region.
This is contained in a statement by Türkiye’s Communications Directorate posted on the Turkish social media platform, NSosyal.
During the phone call, Erdogan said Türkiye would continue its efforts against actions that could drive the region into long-term disaster.
He added that recent movements by terrorist organisations and their affiliated groups were being closely monitored.
Erdogan added that Türkiye was working intensively to end regional conflicts and facilitate a return to negotiations.
Both Erdogan and Barzani highlighted the importance of the “Terror-Free Türkiye” initiative.(NAN/AA)(nannews.ng)
